Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that search service. Monroe County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own system. The provider may process the query under its separate privacy practices, so its policy should be reviewed before a search is submitted.
Messages Sent to Us
Email and contact-form messages are retained as needed to read the request, respond, and maintain the related correspondence. They are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process. A message should not include sensitive custody, medical, financial, or identity data that is unnecessary for the question.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine technical records may be created when a page loads. They help the site function, reveal broad usage patterns, and assist with fault detection. Depending on the visitor's browser, device, and network, those records may include:
- The internet protocol address associated with the request
- The browser name, browser type, and version
- The device category and operating system
- The pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The referring website or source, when supplied
- The date and time connected with each request
Browser Cookies
Cookies and similar browser storage may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support site or advertising functions. Browser controls can reject or delete cookies. Blocking them may cause some tools, preferences, or page features to work differently.
Purposes for Using Data
Information is used only for site operation, service delivery, measurement, maintenance, and advertising. Those purposes include the following:
- Keeping pages available, stable, and responsive
- Sending search requests to the selected partner service
- Learning which Monroe County resource pages visitors find useful
- Detecting errors, misuse, and technical failures
- Displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests
Privacy Beyond This Site
Links may lead to Monroe County Correctional Facility resources, Pennsylvania Department of Corrections services, parole or probation offices, federal locators, court systems, legal information, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination controls its own collection and handling of data. Its privacy notice, terms, and security practices apply instead of this notice.
Some advertising providers may use cookies or similar technology on their own systems to recognize activity across different websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking is performed through the provider's technology, not through a separate Monroe County inmate-record database maintained here.
Parties That May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold. Limited data may still be provided to services that perform the functions described in this notice or to public authorities acting through valid legal process. Potential recipients are:
- Search partners that receive and process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and page use
- Advertising networks that deliver or assess advertisements
- Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid order or other binding legal demand
Safeguards and Their Limits
Reasonable, commonly used security practices are applied to information handled by the site. No website, transmission path, or internet-connected storage system can be guaranteed secure in every circumstance. Monroe County Released Inmates therefore cannot promise that unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Rights depend on the law that applies to the visitor and the data. Subject to verification and lawful limits, a person may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal information held about them
- Correct personal information that is inaccurate
- Delete personal information where erasure is legally available
- Opt out of processing for which an applicable law grants that choice
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised as services, technology, or legal duties change. A revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after publication is subject to the updated notice.
